The College Roadmap
Seniors:
What to do in September
1)
Meet with your high-school counselor to review your
plans for college. Do you want to go to a traditional
4-year university? Community college? Vocational school?
Do you want to attend a competitive university? You
should evaluate your plans based on your test scores
and junior year grades.
2)
Sign up for the October ACT or the October/November
SAT I
and/or SAT
II.
3)
Start writing to colleges on your list and request applications
and information on admissions, financial aid, and housing.
4)
Check with your high-school to make sure that your transcripts
and other official records are up-to-date.
5)
Ask your teachers, employers, and coaches to write you
letters of recommendation. You'll need these in the
admissions process.
6)
Get a copy of the CSS Profile Registration Guide from
your high-school guidance office. Find out if any of
the colleges on your list require this financial aid
application.
